| Bill, as his friends called him, served four years in the United States Navy during the Korean War. He had been the owner and operator of a Trail-A-Way mobile home park in Utica, New York before moving to Virginia Beach, Virgina in 1968. At that time he started to work for Norfolk Southern Railroad where he was a conductor and brakeman. He lost both legs in a railroad accident in 1984. After being in the hospital for four months he started having severe symptons of Huntingtons Disease. He dealt with the terrible disease without any legs until his death |
